Lobbying by Non-Profits and Charities: Getting It Right from the Top Down and from the Bottom-Up

This is a day-long workshop (currently not available in webinar format) designed for members of boards of directors of organizations that have (or are considering) public-policy advocacy as an important part of the organization’s work. 

Pre-requisite: None

  • What boards need to know about how governments decide
  • Five key questions about advocacy that boards must confront
  • Tips for effective oversight and management of the organization’s lobbying activities 
  • Building appropriate in-house advocacy capacity in your organization
  • Summary of relevant “rules” governing advocacy by charities, NGOs and associations
